The Route
Montreal to New York City covers roughly 610 km via Interstate 87, typically a 6.5 to 7.5 hour drive including the Canada–U.S. border crossing at Champlain–St. Bernard de Lacolle. It's the longest of our standard city-to-city routes, and one that requires particular attention to documentation and timing.
Cross-Border Requirements
All passengers must carry valid passports or approved travel documents for entry into the United States. Business travelers should also carry any relevant documentation for the purpose of their trip (meeting confirmations, corporate letters) in case of secondary inspection. Our chauffeurs are experienced with the Lacolle crossing and build reasonable buffer time into the schedule for border processing.
Why Executives Book This Route Privately
- Avoiding connecting flights or layovers for a single-city destination
- Continuous working time in a private cabin for a long journey
- No risk of missed connections affecting a fixed meeting time in Manhattan
- Group travel coordination for teams attending the same New York engagement
Vehicle & Comfort for Long-Distance Travel
Cross-border transfers of this length are completed in our executive-class vehicles — Mercedes S-Class or V-Class — with Wi-Fi, climate control, and scheduled rest stops built into the route.
Booking a Cross-Border Transfer
Because of border timing variability, we recommend booking Montreal–New York transfers at least 48 hours in advance. Contact our corporate desk directly for scheduling, documentation guidance, and group coordination.
